Trader Joe’s is the master of private label, which means they are great at getting brands to make items for them and slap the Trader Joe’s logo on it. Trade Joe’s has a lot of meatless items private labeled by Gardein, and these roasts are another great example. Trader Joe’s seems to have gotten these in last week, right in time for Thanksgiving. Right now you can get the Trader Joe’s roast for $9.99! At my local Whole Foods Market the Gardein brand sells the same roast for $16.99, a significant savings.
I haven’t tried either one of these roasts yet, but I’m excited to do so. The cashier told me they taste really good, so I’m taking her word for it! I’ll post a review after I try one of these. If you’re lucky enough to live by a Trader Joe’s, go pick one up!
Have you tried either of these products? If so, leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Off to Trader Joe’s at lunchtime so I’ll see if I can get one. It cheaper that the “Native Wellington” from Native Foods Cafe ($40), but it looks good.
I love Native Foods Cafe! I hadn’t heard of their Native Wellington, but it looks very good!
I bought the Trader Joe’s brand one. An employee said it’s really good and cheaper than the Tofurky brand they used to sell. I’m excited to try it for Thanksgiving!
I’m glad the employees seem to have tried it and enjoy the roast!

I could tell this was a repackaged Gardein product from the first bite, but that doesn’t bother me. My kids were less enthralled, though, and for that reason we’ll stick to Tofurky for holidays, which they prefer.
